Acknowledgements

I would like to offer my heart felt thanks to those people named and unnamed who contributed so much to the success of this project.
No journey of this ilk can be undertaken without support, belief and understanding from a wide range of people and organisations, including friends, family and colleagues. The planning, preparation and completion of this project would not have been possible without this.
The sponsorship for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People was phenomenal. My local community, within Spelthorne, Surrey, supported the venture enthusiastically from the start and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of them for making this project possible and worthwhile. My thanks go to:
- The Management, staff and patrons at The Three Crowns in Stanwell, Middx.
- The staff, Dave Lane and the patrons at the Esso Club Stanwell, Middx.
- The Surgery in Fordbridge Road, Ashford, Middx.
- Ian Thomas MD of TriDek Management Associates who sponsored the project by financing the flight to Iceland and a generous donation to the charity HDFDP.
- The Management, staff and patrons at The Bull, in Iver, Bucks.
- The staff and members at the Arena gym in Stockley Park, Hillingdon, Middx.
- All at Lufthansa at Heathrow Airport.
- All officers and civilian staff at Staines Police Station.
- Michael and Karen at Cycleman in Ashford, Middx.
- The Spelthorne Committee for Access Now (SCAN)
And all of the many individuals who have stopped me in the street and donated to the charity.
I would also like to thank the following people, without whose support and friendship the project would not have got off the ground:
- Steve Cornwall for his enthusiasm, friendship and belief in the project.
- Vinny Ross and all at Chevron, for their support and advice.
- John Birdsall, for inspiring me at the RGS and for his advice along the way.
- Pall Gudjonsson and the IFHK, for the help, advice and publicity in Iceland.
- Magnus Dor Hilmarsson, Gudrun Benediktsdottir, Oli and Moa Benediktsdottir, for their invaluable advice and friendship.
- Ben Searle, for his advice and help
- Dale Rennard, for the design layout and composition of the promotional literature.
- Steve Heynes, for his advice and help in the printing of the literature.
- Suresh Paul and all at DFL (Design For Life) for their support and the loan of a tent.
- All of the people of Iceland, who I am sure at one point past me on the road and showed their support for the charity and myself.

My wife Sarah, for her never-ending support for me and the silly things I get up to.
